8. Shoring Underpinning scaffolding damp and termite proof construction prefabricated elements for building.
9. Cost estimating :
a) Estimation definition methods: Centre line and long wall shortwall methods- units of measurements estimation of buildings.
b) Analysis of rates purpose factors affecting the rates data for different items of work in building.
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION -II (DRAWING)
Building components :
1. Foundation : Spread foundation for walls and columns of masonry -sketching of raft & pile foundation.
2. Doors & Windows : Sketching of battened, ledged, braced & panelled doors, sketching of fully panelled, partly panelled, fully glazed & partly glazed windows.
3. Roofs & Roof trusses : Pitched-lean-to-roof, gable roof & hipped roof, king post & queen post trusses, R.C.C. roof.
4. Stairs : Drawing of single flight, dog legged, open well type stairs - R.C.C. stairs.
Building :
Functional design of buildings - positioning of various components of the building - size requirements.
5. Reinforced concrete elements : Lintels, Chajjas, Beams, slabs detailed sketches only.
Buildings to be covered are :
(1) Residential buildings - flat, pitched & combined.
(2) Office buildings - flat roof.
(3) Public buildings like hospital, hostel, school etc-flat roof.
Detailed drawing with respect to plan, section and elevation are to be drawn.
