DC AND AC CIRCUIT ANALYSIS

Steady State Analysis: Review of linear circuit elements, active elements, source transformation, series and parallel circuits, node voltage and mesh current analysis (DC and single phase AC circuits), steady state analysis to sinusoidal input, phasors, star to delta and delta to star transformation, power, power triangle, complex power, power and power factor improvement.                                                                                            14 hrs.

Network Theorems: Superposition theorem, Reciprocity theorem, Thevenin’s theorem, Norton’s theorem, Maximum Power transfer theorem.                                     8 hrs.

Resonant Circuits: Resonance in series and parallel circuits by frequency variation, half power frequencies, bandwidth.                                                                             4 hrs.

Three Phase Circuits: Analysis of three phase balanced and unbalanced, delta and star connected loads, star to delta conversion method, mesh current method, neutral displacement method, measurement of power in three phase balanced and unbalanced loads.                                                                                                                                   14 hrs.
