Objective : To study structural components analytically and then verify their behaviour by test.
Experiments :
1. Tension test on structural materials. a) Mild steel rod b) steel wires
2. Compression test on structural materials. a) Mild steel b) Cast iron c) Timber
3. Bending test a) Mild steel rod b) timber
4. Torsion test on mild steel circular bar
5. Test on leaf spring or carriage spring
6. Test on helical spring
7. Direct shear test (single and double shear) a) Mild steel b) Timber
8. Hardness tests : BHN, RHN on M.S., Copper, C.I., Brass and Aluminium
9. Impact tests : Izod and Charpy tests on M.S. and C.I.
10.Fatigue test on M.S., only demonstration.
