D. C. Circuits: Circuit elements, independent sources, source transformation, network reduction techniques, series, parallel series-parallel circuits, star to delta and delta to star conversions, mesh current and node voltage analysis.  -  8hrs

 

Single Phase A. C. Circuits: Phasors, Phasor diagram, voltage and current relations & power consumed in resistor, inductor and capacitors, impedance, admittance, active, reactive and apparent powers, power factor, power triangle, analysis of series, parallel and series-parallel circuits, mesh current and node voltage analysis. - 12 hrs

 

Network Theorems: Superposition theorem, Reciprocity theorem, Thevenin’s theorem, Norton’s theorem, Maximum Power transfer theorem. - 8 hrs.

 

Resonant Circuits: Resonance in series and parallel circuits by frequency variation, half power frequencies, bandwidth. - 6 hrs.

 

Three Phase AC Circuits:    Phase sequence, Three phase balanced star and delta connected loads, measurement of power in 3 phase, balanced loads – two wattmeter method. - 6 hrs.
