Device Programming Steps
Log onto machine S343-8 in room S-343. Select Mobile Windows during
the log in process.
Open the MAX+plus II program group and double click on the MAX+plus II
icon. If you do not have a MAX+plus II program group, use Appman to install
MAX+plus II in your mobile windows context. If this is the first time
you are using the programmer, you'll need to set it put too. To set the
programmer start MAX+plus II and select MAX+plus II | Programmer. A hardware
setup window should appear. Click on the Auto-Setup button. The programmer
hardware will be auto-detected and a .INI file created in your account. Next
click on Okay, at this point you will probably get an Windows application
error message. Select Close the Application and restart MAX+plus II.
Select File | Project | Name and specify your project name.
Select File | Open and open the top level design file for your project.
Select Assign | Device and choose the exact name of the device you will
be programming. You may have to select the Show All Packages & Speed Grades
check box to permit selection of the proper chip. You will generally want
to leave the Turbo and Security bits off.
Select MAX+plus II | Compiler and click on the compiler Start button to
compile your design.
If the compilation is successful and your design fits in the chip
specified, select MAX+plus II | Programmer. The programmer window should
appear. Place your chip in the programmer with pin one in the proper
location. Click on the Blank Check button to confirm that your chip has been
properly erased. Next, click on the Program button to program your chip.
If your chip is not automatically verified, click on the Verify button to
verify that the chip was correctly programmed.
Remove your chip from the programmer and exit MAX+plus II.
