I am a science fiction fan and am active in "Fandom." Below are some science fiction and science fact related links.
I recently did two presentations at Concinnity held at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and sponsored by MAGE (the student gaming club). These presentations were entitled "How to Kill a Gamer" and "How to Build an Alien."
A few years ago I did a presentation at Marcon 34 in Columbus, Ohio entitled "Biology/Medicine 101."
I gave a presentation at the International Space Development Conference '98 held here in Milwaukee. The title of the presentation was "The Nature of Possible Life on Europa and Other Planets within our Solar System." Click here to see the handout I prepared for the presentation.
I was on three panels at LoneStarCon 2 (the 55th World Science Fiction Convention) in San Antonio, TX. Click on the panel titles below to go to my web pages dedicated to each of these topic:

I am interesting in helping writers, producers and editors get the science right in their stories. See my Science Fiction Technical Consultation Services page for more information. Let me help you stamp out techno-babble.
I think Babylon 5 is currently the best show on TV. There are a number of web sites dedicated to the show. Some of my favorites include The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5, UK Babylon 5 InterWeb, JMS on B5 (this page is a little dated, but is very good if you're new to B5 fandom) and Official B5 web Site (commerical, not very good).
Marc Scott Zicree, one of the producers of Slider's met with fans of the show at World Con. The first two seasons of Slider's were pretty good. The third season (last year's) was absolutely awful. I had heard at Marcon that the problem was with the FOX network executives demanding that the show be dumbed down and that recently popular movies be copied. This Spring The Sci-Fi Channel bought the rights to the show and will be producing a new season of episodes. Mr. Zirec assured the fans that this season will be better than last season. He asked the fans for suggestions about how to improve the show and for possible writers. He indicated that he wanted to get some established science fiction writers to do some of this year's episodes. To learn more about the Slider's universe, check out Ed Hall's very good site (that includes Frequently Ask Questions (FAQ) and information on the "Summer of Love" lost scene), Nigel G. Mitchell's site and/or Robert W. Potter's site.
