A design report detailing the background research, initial feasibility study, thermal modeling and verification, electrical loading, economic, and environmental analysis was written by the team during their second trimester of the design process. This report was further expanded on during the third trimester to include a detailed description of the software created along with a test case showing its application on Sweet Water Organics, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A poster to summarize the efforts of the team members during the course of the 2011-2012 academic year was created by the team and presented at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Student Design Show. The poster provides an overview of the practice of aquaponics, design considerations for the CHP system, thermal modeling and testing, and the software design tool created.

CHP Software User Manual

A manual was developed to overview the Aquaponics Analysis Tool program created by the team. This manual overviews the use of the analysis tool, operating instructions, and terminology utilized within the program. A copy of the User's Manual is also included in the Aquaponics Analysis Tool below. Prior to downloading the Analysis Tool, it is recommended that the user familiarize themselves with the operation of the program through this manual.

The manual can be dowloaded here.

CHP Analysis Software

A software package was designed by the CASE senior design team as a preliminary analysis tool to assist aquaponics operations in their consideration of whether CHP is an appropriate choice for their practice. Details regarding the software package can be found here.

The software package designed by the team can be downloaded here.

The package contains:
Excel user sheet
Calculation executable
User manual

Note: Requires Microsoft Excel to run. OpenOffice cannot run the Excel macros.
